What is Sunlight?

You recently got an email inviting you to join something called Sunlight, and are probably wondering what on Earth your company's asking you to do now. 

Fear not, it's not one of those tedious things you'll do or won't and then forget all about it until someone asks (hopefully).  Sunlight is the platform your company has decided to start using to provide your Learning and Development benefit. So, now that introductions to the platform are sorted, you may be wondering how to get started, which is where this article comes in.

Set up your account

To set up your account, all you have to do is click the button to join on one of our various emails we've started sending since you were invited.  Clicking the button will take you to a page like the one pictured below:

You can then proceed to create your account with any of the options available, including using Google account or email. If you're being invited to use Sunlight by your company, then please use your work email when signing up. Once you've finished the sign up process, you'll be welcomed inside Sunlight and will be able to start spending your Sunlight! 

If your invite expired

For security purposes, invitations expire 21 days after being sent. If your invite got lost or buried in your inbox (we know it happens!),  just contact us from the email you received the invitation and we'll sort you out in a jiffy.  You needn't worry, your Sunlight will be safe and waiting for you when you do join.

Complete your profile

Once inside, you might want to edit your settings to make your account as personal as possible and get the best experience.  To do this, click on your account name, located at the top left side of the sidebar. Once your account menu displays, click on settings. 

From here on, you'll find all the fields you can fill in to personalise your account. We encourage you to fill as much of the information as possible, for us to be able to help you get the most out of your learning and development allowance. Here are some of them:


We use your address whenever you use your Sunlight to request something which requires a physical delivery. This might be a book from Amazon for example.

Roles & Skills

Fill in your current roles and skills you'd like to learn or improve on so that we can recommend you the best resources to do so. You can change these at any time. 


You can set your Sunlight account to work in US Dollars, Euros or British Pounds. 

Third party integrations

You can connect your Sunlight account with accounts from other platforms such as Google or Linkedin. This will make your sign in easier (as you'll be able to use any of the integrated accounts), as well as help us further personalise Sunlight for you. 

Use your Sunlight

Congrats! You're now fully ready to use your Sunlight. Feel free to use the search tool or place new requests. This short article will walk you through Creating a New Request and, when in doubt, you can always ask the Concierge: our support team is always available and happy to help. There is no limit to what you can learn!
